1) Solar panel:
Generally the price of single crystal solar panels are nearly 6$ per watt, whereas the price of multi crystal panels are nearly 4.50$.There are three types of solar panels that are available in the markets.
The first type is the single crystal panel. This type of panel has got the highest quality and has very high efficiency. This panel will work at its best during the semi sunny conditions. That is possible only in the areas that are nearer to coastal regions where the sunlight is minimal.
The multi crystal panel is a little less efficient and poor quality panel when compared to the single crystal one. It will work properly at the areas where the sunlight is high, i.e. highly sunny conditions. Kyocera, evergreen, Astro, Siemens and BP are some of the companies that are manufacturing the multi crystal solar panels.
The thirds type of panel is the thin film panel. These panels are far less efficient than the remaining 2 panels and also have very less life. They are much flexible, and are generally used in RVs, boats, cars etc.
While choosing your solar panels, you should also consider the location in which you are living. Small sized panels are available in 12 volts between 50 to 100 watts rating while large sized panels are available in 24 volts between 120 to 175 watts rating. You should look for the best one that suits your budget.
2) Racks:
You cannot place your panels in the floor. You need to find a place where you can mount your panel so that it can absorb the solar energy without an interruption. The best thing you can do in this case is to use a rack. A rack is a device that will point the panel towards the south when placed on it. It will adjust itself at an angle depending on the position of the sun.
Racks are available at different models and sizes. You can choose the best one according to the type of panel that you are using at your home for supplying power for your home appliances.
